Have You Started Your Summer Bucket List?

What are your plans for the summer?
At our last activity, Annette researched and handed out a list of activities that we can do this summer with our children or grandchildren. If you didn't get a list you can find it here.

We would love for you to share what's on your summer bucket list. Send us pictures and tell us what you're up to.

Sherri took her grand-kids to the Griffith Park Observatory, Olvera Street and The LA City Hall. A great time was had by all.
From the Observatory... Can you see the Hollywood Sign in the background?
The Griffith Observatory is closed on Mondays, but we still had a great time walking around and enjoying the fantastic views in all directions.

On Olvera Street, we ate lunch, shopped and visited the oldest standing residence in California.

Los Angeles City Hall is a great place to visit and it's free

We were able to take the express elevator all the way to the top. Talk about a fantastic view!
We were tipped off by one of the city hall workers that there was an amazing view (on the fourth floor) of the chandelier in the Rotunda. Click here for more on our LA Adventure

Did You Guess Correctly?

Were you able to figure out what this was? If you guessed dryer lint, you're right. Tonight we learned how to make fire starters with this, an egg crate and wax.

Georgiana gave us a demonstration.

She added a little lint to each cup and then....

She melted some paraffin wax and then....

She filled the cups and waited for it to harden....

She then cut them into individual sections and there you have it. A fire starter that you can take with you to the beach to start a bon fire, or to use when you go camping, or for emergency prep... or when ever you need to start a fire. Thank you Georgiana.
